Group Facilitator

The Group Facilitator supports clients in their journey toward recovery and wellness by providing counseling for individuals, groups, and helping implement treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; AA/BA preferred
  • Must be a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the State of California, or have obtained your certificate and passed the CAADE or CCAPP exam and are working your hours towards certification (ASW/AMFT, LFMT/LCSW preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar position or similar function
  • Drug Medi-Cal/SAGE experience
  • Trained in ASAM, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention, Anger Management and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Ability to take and pass drug/alcohol testing on a regular basis
  • Proficient computer skills to complete daily job functions
  • A TB test within the last year
  • Able to work evenings and/or weekends

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Experience working with young adult and adult populations
  • High degree of attention to detail, personal initiative, and commitment to quality
  • Excellent, proven oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or able to attain within 30 days upon hire
  • Ability to work in and adapt to the culture of a community-based organization that serves a culturally diverse population
